Even though the weather here in Michigan might not say so yet, Spring is right around the corner.  And that means that it's time to think about how your yard is going to compare to your neighbors'.  Though you may have a nice green lawn and lots of flowers and landscaping to show off, it just seems like something's missing, doesn't it?  Well, that something just might be a lawn swing, a picnic table, or rocking chair. 

Problem solved.  We here at Moon Valley are gearing up to bring you the very best that we have to offer for the 2008 season, and I'm here to tell you all about it.  You may or may not know that my dad, Rick Detkowski, Sr., purchased the company in the fall of 2006.  At that time, the previous owners were ready to close the doors - lights out and good night.  But we were determined to keep this Clarkston, Michigan business staple alive with some innovation, new quality standards, new personnel, an emphasis on marketing, and lots of hard work.  But when the 2007 season hit, it was a real eye-opener.  The old way of doing things proved to hinder our new goals of expanding our market, and made it clear that we needed to get leaner, meaner, smarter, and better.  And that's exactly what we've done.

Over the course of late 2007 and early 2008, the wheels were set in motion to usher in a new era at Moon Valley.  Many innovations were introduced for the first time such as Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Cellular Manufacturing, and Standard Work, just to name a few.  With this, we have been able to assemble a top-notch team that has embraced the concepts that will help us meet our biggest goal - quality that lasts generations and customers that are happy for a lifetime.
